Constrain To Origin Move

Overview

Constrain To Origin Move moves selected components to the assembly origin and constrains them while maintaining their current orientation (rotation about their origin). Each selected component is constrained to its parent assembly, ensuring the position is updated but the orientation remains unchanged.

How It Works

  1. Select one or more components to move to the assembly origin.
  2. The command moves each selected component to the assembly origin, maintaining its orientation.
  3. Constraints are applied to keep the orientation unchanged.

Usage Instructions

  1. Open the assembly containing the components.
  2. Select the components to move to the origin.
  3. Click the Constrain To Origin Move button in the Configure panel.
  4. Review the position and constraints in the assembly.

Troubleshooting

  1. If components do not move as expected, verify that their origin planes are correctly defined.
  2. Check for existing constraints that may interfere with movement.
  3. Ensure the correct components are selected.

Examples

  1. Move a bracket to the assembly origin: Select the bracket and use the command to reposition it while keeping its orientation.
  2. Move multiple supports to the origin: Select all supports, then run the command to move them to the assembly origin.
